Sporveien AS has appointed NRC Norge AS, a company wholly owned by NRC Group ASA, to a contract for rebuilding Holtet base in Oslo.

A new structure for the reception and operation of new trams will be developed, as well as facilities for maintenance of the tram infrastructure. After rebuilding, Holtet base is dimensioned to accommodate 43 of the 87 new trams that are expected to be delivered in 2021.

The contract is valued at approximately NOK 402 million and is the largest contract awarded to NRC Norge AS to date.

The contract will involve rail services such as track, electro and groundwork, and the work will commence in March 2018 and the project is scheduled for completion in January 2020.

"We are pleased to inform that NRC Norge AS has been chosen and look forward to executing this exiting project for Sporveien. The contract is a perfect fit in our strategy of covering the entire value chain of railbased infrastructure, and confirms that NRC is well positioned for the major upgrade of the tram system in Oslo the coming years ”, says Øivind Horpestad, CEO of NRC Group ASA.

Closing date for submission of complaints is 10 days from today, and formal contractual signing can take place after this period at the earliest.
