The Swedish Transport Administration has appointed NRC Sverige AB, a company wholly owned by NRC Group ASA, to a contract for the maintenance of railways around Hallsberg in Sweden.
This is the first contract NRC Group wins within the rail maintenance market in Sweden which has an estimated size of SEK 5 billion annually. NRC Group will be responsible for preventive maintenance and corrective measures on the track lines, and will involve rail services such as track, electro, signal and groundwork.
The contract is valued at approximately SEK 357 million, and will take effect from January 2019 and continue to January 2024 with an additional two year option period.
"This contract is very important to us since we now step into the maintenance market, which opens a new large and exciting market segment for us in Sweden. In addition, it will give us valuable experience and references to the maintenance market we expect Bane NOR will launch in Norway the coming years”, says Øivind Horpestad, CEO of NRC Group ASA.
Closing date for submission of complaints is 10 days from today, and formal contractual signing can take place after this period at the earliest.
